Fall/Winter 2011 Color Report for Bead & Jewelry Designers (PDF)
"Rich" describes the palette for this autumn and winter. And it includes one of the most beautiful purples I've had the pleasure of knowing: PHLOX. I've featured Kristy Nijekamp's lampworked brooch on the cover because it's lush elegance exemplifies this dashing purple. I could revel in this brooch and this color for decades. (oh wait... I have!)?
My second favorite color of the season is DEEP TEAL (read the issue find out why it's so mysterious), and I'm impressed by the versatility of NOUGAT, a shy, unassuming fawn tone that is more powerful than you might think. BAMBOO is outrageous and daring, and COFFEE LIQUE?R evokes the warmth we'll be needing in a few months.
The jewelry in this issue of the Color Report runs the gamut of restrained and elegant to casual and playful. And it includes colorful woven, embroidered, and strung beaded examples of palettes and colors.
